The heart and soul of the Green Group, founded in 1973

The heart of the Green Group is Leonard Green, who after five years of working with Deloitte Touche spread his entrepreneurial wings for the first time, but certainly not the last, when he founded the Green Group in 1973.

The Green Group, which specializes in client services of closely held businesses, family businesses, thoroughbred businesses, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals and their families, remains the foundation on which Leonard has built an empire creating over 35 companies including SoBe beverages and Blue Buffalo pet food.

Leonard's entrepreneurial success led him to write “The Entrepreneur's Playbook, More than 100 Proven Strategies, Tips and Techniques to Build a Radically Successful Business” as well as a follow up book due to be published in 2024.

The most popular professor on campus at Babson College, the nation's number-one-rated school for entrepreneurship, Leonard leads a class of ambitious students each year under his given title as “Entrepreneur-in-Residence.”

Leonard also owns one of the most successful Thoroughbred racing operations in the world. DJ Stable has won two Sovereign Awards, two Eclipse Awards, 14 Leading Owner Titles, over 150 Stakes Race victories and 2,500 overall wins. In addition, D.J. Stable has bred 24 Grade I performers and sold over $87 million of horses at public auction. The Green Group has over 800 clients in the horse business because Leonard knows the industry first hand.

Leonard knows business and he loves business. Whether teaching, writing or consulting, he puts his heart into growing his clients' wealth and success. An outsized entrepreneurial spirit along with unmatched expertise combines to create Leonard's secret sauce.
